A significant number of people visit Thailand for a trip which typically lasts between 1-6 months. Some of these visitors will base themselves in one place and stay in an apartment or hotel enjoying discounted rates for a long stay. At first glance there doesn't appear to be any policies catering specifically for such visitors.
Many insurance companies don't seem to realize the existence of such travellers and the only policy on offer is often labeled as a 'Backpacker Policy.' Don't be put off if you don't fit the description of the typical backpacker because these policies are often the best available for those visiting Thailand on an extended stay.

| World Nomads | Cover for residents of most countries. Probably the most flexible policy we've seen for long-stay visitors to Thailand, although not necessarily the cheapest. The policy can easily be extended once in Thailand if you decide to stay longer. Everything is dealt with online which makes it easier for those already travelling. |
